This policy explains what information TakeHome Buddy (takehomebuddy.com) handles when you use the site.

Information you enter

The salary, wage, filing status and other values you type into the calculators are processed in your browser. The exact amounts you enter are never sent to our servers and we do not store them. The only information that leaves your browser about a calculation is the anonymous usage count described under "Anonymous usage statistics" below.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time of request in order to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We do not use this data to identify you.

Cookies and advertising

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views, referring sites, countries and page performance. It is a privacy-focused service that does not use cookies or local storage and does not build profiles of individual visitors.

Anonymous usage statistics

To learn which calculators are useful, the site records anonymous, aggregate counts when a calculator is used. Each count contains only coarse categories: the page, the state selected, whether pay was entered as a salary or an hourly wage, the pay frequency, the filing status, a broad pay range (for example "$50,000 to $75,000"), and whether a 401(k) or local tax percentage was entered. The exact amount you enter is never recorded.

These counts are stored as totals per day. They are not linked to your IP address, a cookie, your browser or any other identifier, and they cannot be used to identify you. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, no usage counts are sent at all.

Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can use the opt-out links above. Depending on where you live, such as California or the European Economic Area, you may have the right to ask what personal information is held about you, to request deletion, and to object to certain processing. We do not knowingly maintain personal profiles of visitors. To make a request, contact contact@takehomebuddy.com.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention

We do not store the amounts you enter into calculators. Anonymous daily usage totals contain no personal information and are kept so we can see trends over time. Technical logs kept by our hosting provider and advertising partners are retained under their own policies.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
